Walk from Melide to Santa Irene

April 18th, 2011 – 30.2 KM – Mostly flat today… the weather changed! It was cool most of the day and rain was expected! We were lucky, though, as it didn’t rain until the last hour (about 4 KM)… Then, it DUMPPED!!!

Candidly, I would have felt cheated out of the typical rain of Galicia if I had completed the camino with NO rain… So, I ended this day wet and happy!

Farmer with his cows!

We took this break along the way! could have been in the town of either Salceda, Oxen, or Brea!

A break with Lina and Antonio!

Wisteria before the rain!

With some amount of forethought, the group – Dominic, Simone, Danielle, Kristoff, Carol, Maryanne, another Kristoff, and I – was able to snag a reservation at the private auberge in Santa Irene. Many thanks to Maryanne for using her cellphone to get it lined up… especially after having it DUMP RAIN!!! The Auberge was very comfortable…
